Master of Net's Garden Winter Suzhou

Master of Nets Garden is situated near the Fengmen city's gate in the southeastern part of the city. It was once the site of the Hall of Ten Thousand Volumes in the Southern Song Dynasty. And it became the residence of Shi Zhengzhi, a high official of the Song court who built it in 1180 after he retired. The residence was also known as Fisherman's Retreat.

The garden is typical of the residential style. It's very unique in Suzhou. The whole garden covers an area of 1.5 acres, and is compactly laid out, with hall, corridors and pavilions in picturesque distribution. The living space and garden courts are a closely integrated whole.
