DAY 1 Huangshan (Tunxi)

Activities for today: Airport (train station) transfer, Tunxi Old Street
Today, our local tour guide will be waiting for you at either Huangshan Tunxi Airport or Huangshan North Railway Station, holding a sign with your name and our logo "Zhangjiajie Tour Guide". You will then be driven to your hotel in downtown Huangshan (Tunxi) for a brief rest before enjoying a leisurely stroll along the 900-year-old Tunxi Ancient Street to appreciate the authentic old-style Huizhou architecture.
Arrival options:
Currently, there are direct flights to Huangshan from cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Xian, and Chengdu, with typically two daily flights from each city. Alternatively, you can choose to take high-speed trains from Shanghai (2.5 to 3.5 hours), Hangzhou (1.5 to 2 hours), Beijing (5.5 to 7 hours), Guangzhou (7 hours), and other cities.

DAY 2 Huangshan (Mt. Huangshan)
Activities for today: Yellow Mountain
Following breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on an approximately 80-minute drive to the base of the Yellow Mountain (Mt. Huangshan). From there, we will transfer to the shuttle bus heading to the Yungu Cable Car station. The cable car ride to the mountain's summit will take about 10 minutes, offering stunning views of the Yellow Mountain, including iconic sights like the Beginning-to-Believe Peak, the Black Tiger pine tree, and the Writing-brush Peak.

DAY 3 Huangshan (Mt. Huangshan)/Hongcun
Activities for today: Pingshancun Village, Hongcun Village
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will descend the mountain via cable car and then proceed to Pingshancun. This ancient village, boasting a history of over 1100 years, still retains more than 200 Ming and Qing Dynasty residential buildings, along with numerous ancient temples, ancestral halls, archways, and the former residences of renowned individuals. The houses in Pingshancun are situated along the banks of the Jiyang River, nestled amidst mountains and water, creating the quintessential charm of a rural area with "small bridges, flowing water, and households".
Following our exploration of Pingshancun, we will continue our journey to Hongcun Village. Renowned for its well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, this village has a history spanning over 900 years. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hongcun is famed for its distinctive layout shaped like an ox, with a nearby hill symbolizing the head and two trees representing the horns. The village is characterized by its traditional Hui-style architecture, serene ponds, intricate carvings, and breathtaking scenery that has captivated visitors and filmmakers alike. DAY 4 Hongcun/Wuyuan
Activities for today: Likeng Village, Xiaoqi Village, Huangling Village
After breakfast, drive to Wuyuan County to explore Likeng, often referred to as the "Little Lijiang". This village offers stunning natural scenery and ancient village architecture. Proceed to visit Xiaoqi, renowned as the "First Village of Chinese Tea Culture" and a "National Ecological Demonstration Village". Established in 787 AD, Xiaoqi features distinctive Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, ancient trees, rapeseed flowers, terraced fields, and other unique attractions. Continue your journey to Huangling, known as the "village hanging on the cliff" with a history spanning over 580 years. The village's 100-plus Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient buildings are significant examples of Hui-style ancient architecture. In recent years, Huangling has become a popular destination for its stunning rapeseed flowers, picturesque terraces, and unique "Autumn Harvest" scenery.

DAY 5 Wuyuan/Wangxiangu
Activities for today: Wangxian Valley
After breakfast, embark on a 70-kilometer drive to Wangxian Valley (Wangxiangu 望仙谷). Renowned as a real-world embodiment of a mystical realm, Wangxiangu was once an abandoned mining site. It offers a profound exploration through the harmonious blend of natural landscapes, human heritage, and legendary narratives that transcend the ordinary. Here, it beckons all who traverse its trails to enter a narrative where every corner is a stanza, every panorama a canvas, and every moment a tribute to the timeless interplay of nature, culture, and folklore. A highlight of the experience is ascending the cliffside plank paths to reach the summit of the mountain, the White Crane Cliff, for a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley.

DAY 6 Wangxiangu/Zhangjiajie

Enjoy a morning of exploration in Wangxiangu. At 13:00, embark on a one-hour drive to Shangrao to catch the high-speed train to Zhangjiajie. Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, our driver will be there to greet you and assist with your hotel check-in.

DAY 7 Zhangjiajie
Activities for today: Tianmen Mountain
Today, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 am for an exciting excursion to Tianmen Mountain, a must-visit attraction in Zhangjiajie.
Your adventure will commence with a ride on the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, which ascends from downtown Zhangjiajie to the mountain's summit, standing over 1,400 meters above sea level. This cableway, spanning approximately 7,455 meters, currently holds the record as the world's longest, providing a stunning view of the winding Tongtian Avenue (Avenue toward Heaven) from its transparent cabins.
Your journey will initially follow the West Line Visiting Route (Looking for a Wonderland), guiding you through the peak region of the mountain. Along the way, you will encounter natural wonders and thrilling experiences, including the daring Guigu Cliffside Path. At the conclusion of the West Line, you will reach the Tianmen Mountain Temple, a historic site dating back to the Tang Dynasty perched atop the mountain.
Following your temple visit, you can opt to further explore the East Line (Jasper Terrace in The Green Field), trekking towards Yuhu Peak and passing through notable sites like South Overlooking Tianmen Cave, Immortal Source, Yu Hu Peak, and Happy Grove. Alternatively, you can choose to take a scenic forest sightseeing cable car (additional fee of 25/pp for a single ride) up to the Yunmeng Fairy Summit, offering the finest panoramic views of Tianmen Mountain. From there, you can descend to the Turbulent Water at Tianmen (Upper Station of Transmountain Escalator).
Subsequently, you will ride the Transmountain Escalator from the peak down to Tianmen Cave, a massive natural fissure in the mountain. This cavern, formed through natural forces, measures 131.5 meters in height, 57 meters in width, and 60 meters in depth, presenting an extraordinary geological marvel. Following this, you will descend the incredibly steep 999 steps (Stairway to Heaven), featuring an incline of up to 45°. Finally, you will take the Tianmen Mountain Express Cableway down to the mountain gate parking lot and then transfer to a shuttle bus back to the Tianmen Mountain Tourist Center, where your driver will be awaiting your return.

DAY 8 Zhangjiajie
Activities for today: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (with glass bridge), Baofeng Lake
After hotel breakfast, embark on a journey to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, where you'll encounter a thrilling blend of excitement and tranquility. Step onto the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, an engineering marvel and the world's longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge. Stretching 430 meters and suspended 400 meters above the valley floor, it provides a mesmerizing perspective that gives the sensation of walking on air. After conquering any fears, take a stroll to the Lookout Deck to savor the panoramic vista of the surroundings.
Subsequently, descend into the valley either on foot or utilizing available transportation facilities such as elevators, slide ways, and zip lines (please discuss your preferences with your tour guide). Within the verdant valley, explore Rainbow Square, Momo Cave, and Shenquan Lake, where you can relish the cool forest shade, a serene boat ride on the emerald lakes, and the vibrant hues of the local flora. The valley excursion includes gentle pathways, with the entire walk lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
After some hours, proceed to the enchanting Baofeng Lake. Enveloped by lush forests and towering mountains, this scenic lake is celebrated for its pristine waters and peaceful ambiance. Enjoy a leisurely cruise on the lake, absorbing the awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding karst peaks and verdant landscapes.

DAY 9 Zhangjiajie/Exit

Kick off your day with an early breakfast, then head to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
Begin your adventure at the Ten Mile Natural Gallery, where sightseeing trams glide past stunning formations like The God of Longevity Welcoming Guests, the Old Herb Picker, and the Three Sisters Peaks. This leisurely journey leads you through a captivating valley filled with storytelling landscapes. To fully immerse yourself in the experience, you’ll take a tram (optional) in and stroll back out, soaking in the beauty along the way.
Your next destination is Yuanjiajie. Begin your exploration on the Bailong Elevator, the world’s fastest and tallest outdoor lift, which ascends from the valley floor to the peak in just 1.5 minutes, providing a stunning bird’s-eye view of the remarkable landscape. Once you arrive at Yuanjiajie, immerse yourself in the area's natural beauty, renowned for its towering sandstone columns. Hike through this enchanting terrain, often shrouded in mist, and discover the inspiration behind the floating Hallelujah Mountains from the film Avatar. At the Ecstasy Terrace, soak in breathtaking vistas of hundreds of distinctive stone peaks. Finally, explore the natural wonder of The First Bridge, a striking stone bridge connecting two peaks with a 5-meter platform, showcasing a rare geological marvel.
After exploring Yuanjiajie, hop on a sightseeing bus to Tianzi Mountain. At Helong Park, you'll discover one of the area's finest viewing decks, providing close-up views of the majestic and unique Yubi Peak, and find the romantic Fairy Flowers among the hundreds of bizarre sandstone peaks. If you have the energy, you can venture a bit deeper to the Warrior Training Horse where dozens of unusual peaks stand tall, among which one peak resembles a proud steed with its mane held high, while next to it, a rock looks like a warrior holding the reins of a horse. End your visit at Tianzi Mountain with an exhilarating ride on the Cable Car, descending through a landscape of sandstone pillars that seem to rush past your window.
Following your exhilarating day, you will be escorted to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport or Zhangjiajie West Train Station for your next adventure or journey home.
